Dubik Mahama “Scandalised and Sad” by Report on Missing ECG Containers, Cites Lack of Engagement

Mahama Criticizes Lack of Engagement in ECG Containers Investigation

Former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Samuel Dubik Mahama, has expressed his shock and sadness regarding the disappearance of over 1,300 ECG containers at the Tema Port, questioning the transparency of the related investigations.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, April 3rd, Mahama conveyed his deep dissatisfaction with the investigative process. He stated he was not only shocked by the sheer number of missing containers but also saddened by the investigative committee’s handling of the matter.

Mahama, who previously held the top position at ECG, revealed that he was not given the chance to speak to the investigative committee, despite the report prominently featuring his name.

“I am scandalised and sad because for a report that has my name in it, the nice and decency of this whole thing should have been that I should be given an opportunity to speak to this committee. It has made it very difficult for me to catch up with the story,” Mahama stated.

The investigative committee was expected to determine how the containers went missing, who was responsible, and what steps were being taken to recover them.
