Adwoa Safo Was Informed of Hearing Postponement – NPP Clarifies

NPP Deputy General Secretary Confirms Safo Was Notified of Hearing Postponement

Haruna Mohammed, the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to claims made by former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, regarding the postponement of her disciplinary committee hearing.

Mohammed clarified that Safo was properly informed about the rescheduling of the hearing, contrary to her assertion that she was not notified.

Safo had raised concerns about being summoned to the party’s headquarters, only to find that the committee was not in session. She questioned why she had not been informed of the cancellation.

Addressing the issue on Monday, April 7, at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Haruna Mohammed explained that the party followed proper procedures in notifying Safo. “Her counsel received a letter. We have had several calls with her, and even I personally reached out to her on multiple occasions,” he said, emphasizing that efforts were made to communicate the change.

Mohammed further clarified that Safo had been informed that the committee would reconvene at a later date, with the new schedule to be communicated to her in due course.

While acknowledging Safo’s concerns as a senior party member, Mohammed stressed the importance of clear communication when such issues arise. He dismissed claims that Safo had been left uninformed and assured the public that the party’s disciplinary committee remains committed to upholding due process in handling the matter.
