The Ghana Police Service is set to recruit 140 individuals as anti-drug watchdogs across Zongo communities nationwide.
This initiative follows a directive from Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak during his recent visit to Sabon Zongo in Accra.
The recruitment is part of a wider plan to combat the growing problem of drug trafficking and abuse, particularly in Zongo areas.
The Asawase MP highlighted that those who assist in capturing drug offenders will receive priority when applying for security service roles.
The watchdog groups, made up of both men and women, will focus on identifying drug hotspots and spearheading community-level efforts to curb drug-related activities.
