A Kumasi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which challenged the results of three parliamentary seats in the Ashanti Region from the 2024 elections.
The court’s ruling favored the New Patriotic Party (NPP), affirming their victories in the contested constituencies.
The NDC had sought to overturn the parliamentary results in Ahafo Ano South West, Obuasi East, and Ahafo Ano North, arguing that their candidates were the rightful winners despite the NPP MPs being sworn into office.
Speaking on Adekyeɛ Kokobɔ on Mabesh FM/TV on Tuesday morning, the Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, said he was confident throughout the legal process.
“I wasn’t afraid because I knew I would win the case,” he stated.
He acknowledged that although some voters engaged in “skirt and blouse” voting—supporting candidates from different parties for president and parliament—it ultimately worked in his favor.
Hon. Dapaah assured his constituents of his commitment to deliver effective representation. He emphasized that his focus would remain on addressing their concerns and ensuring their voices are heard in Parliament.
