Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher attributes West Ham United’s poor 2024-2025 season to Mohammed Kudus’s decline in form.
West Ham are currently 15th in the English Premier League, a significant drop from their ninth-place finish last season.
During a Sky Sports broadcast before West Ham’s 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Carragher suggested that Kudus’s inconsistent performances are a key factor in the team’s struggles. “There is no doubt he’s a quality player who should be playing for a team I would say closer to the top of the table not near the bottom right now but probably one of the reasons why West Ham are where they are this season, is because he hasn’t shown the form that he showed last season. Last season, he looked fantastic, just hasn’t looked the same player this season so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a change,” Carragher said.
In the 2023-2024 campaign, the Black Stars midfielder recorded eight goals and nine assists in 33 league games, whereas this season, he has only four goals and three assists in 31 league appearances.
Kudus played 79 minutes in the loss to Forest. West Ham will conclude their league season against Ipswich Town on Sunday, May 25.
