Hajia4Reall Set for Release After Serving U.S. Prison Term Over Romance Scam

After pleading guilty in 2024, the influencer now begins a new chapter under supervised release

Ghanaian socialite and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, widely known as Hajia4Reall, is scheduled to be released from the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia today, May 22, 2025, after completing a one-year and one-day prison sentence.

The 32-year-old influencer, who rose to fame via Instagram with over 3.4 million followers, was convicted of conspiracy to receive stolen funds as part of a West Africa-based romance scam and cyber fraud syndicate that defrauded elderly Americans of more than $2 million.

Extradited from the UK to the U.S. in May 2023, she pleaded guilty in February 2024 and was sentenced in June of the same year. Court records show she managed bank accounts that processed fraudulent payments under false identities, tied to fabricated stories such as gold transport fees and fake FBI investigations.

In addition to her sentence, she was ordered to forfeit $216,475 and pay $1.38 million in restitution. Upon release, she will serve three years of supervised release. Her legal team says she plans to return to Ghana to rebuild her life and make a positive impact.
