
The Upper West Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the suspected murder of Yahaya Issah, a 55-year-old security guard popularly known as Soja.
According to a statement from the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service in Wa, the incident was reported on Sunday, September 21, 2025, after the deceased was found lying face-up with visible head injuries and bloodstains at Wa-Dori.
The body was transported to the Upper West Regional Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Following the post-mortem examination, the body was released to the family and buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
A team of crime scene experts has since visited the location to gather forensic evidence to aid ongoing investigations.
On Monday, September 22, a delegation from the Regional Police Command visited the deceased’s family in the Dodiyiri community, offering condolences and assuring them of a thorough and transparent investigation.
ACP Peter Kamasa, Deputy Regional Police Commander, reaffirmed the Police Command’s commitment to justice, stating:
“The Regional Police Command wishes to reaffirm its commitment to ensuring justice and assures the general public that every effort is being made to establish the facts of the matter.”
