The government has announced official arrangements for the state funeral of the victims of the tragic helicopter crash that occurred on August 6 in Adansi Akrufuom.
The funeral will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, and will be a full military ceremony organized by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
At a press briefing held on Thursday, August 14, Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe outlined the funeral programme, which will be conducted in three phases:

The pre-burial activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. The Vice President is scheduled to arrive at 8:50 a.m., followed by President John Dramani Mahama at 9:00 a.m., marking the start of the official state service.
The three-hour ceremony will include the reading of biographies of the eight victims and tributes from widows, children, government officials, and representatives of various institutions.
After the service, the remains of six victims will be transported to the military cemetery at Tse Addo for burial. The interment will be conducted jointly by the GAF and the churches to which the deceased belonged.
The helicopter crash on August 6 claimed eight lives. Two victims — Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna — were buried earlier on Sunday, August 10, in accordance with Islamic rites.
