Liverpool will pay tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva during their pre-season friendly against Preston North End on Sunday.
The Portuguese international and his brother tragically died in a car accident last week in Zamora, Spain.
Sunday’s match at Deepdale will be Liverpool’s first since the tragedy. The club described Jota’s passing as an “unimaginable loss.”
A number of tributes are planned to honour the 27-year-old forward, who scored nine goals in 37 appearances for the Reds last season.
Liverpool’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone will be played in the stadium, and Preston captain Ben Whiteman will lay a wreath in front of the away section in remembrance.
Both teams will observe a minute’s silence, and players from both sides will wear black armbands. Preston have also prepared a special commemorative edition of the matchday programme, and televised tributes will be shown before kickoff.
