Goosie Tanoh, Special Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, has highlighted that the policy is a dynamic and evolving programme, firmly based on scientific principles and strong social democratic values.
Speaking at the official launch on Wednesday, July 2, Tanoh explained that the initiative is designed to adapt to new challenges and the shifting socio-economic realities in Ghana.
“At the secretariat, we welcome constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance the programme. The 24-Hour Economy is a living, breathing initiative—rooted in science and social democracy—but flexible enough to adjust tactically as circumstances change,” he stated.
Tanoh emphasized that the initiative’s success hinges on continuous learning, engagement with stakeholders, and ongoing policy refinement.
“We anticipate learning many lessons and making numerous adjustments throughout the process. This approach is crucial for achieving meaningful societal transformation in the short, medium, and long term,” he added.
He also commended President John Dramani Mahama for his strong leadership and commitment to driving the initiative forward.
“Our President is undeniably a champion of responsible entrepreneurship and national progress,” Tanoh said.
Concluding with an optimistic outlook, Tanoh expressed confidence in Ghana’s capacity to realize the 24-Hour Economy’s goals.
“As a nation and a people, we have everything needed to succeed,” he affirmed.
The 24-Hour Economy, a flagship policy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), seeks to increase national productivity, generate jobs, and establish Ghana as a resilient and competitive economy powered by round-the-clock activity.
