MTN Ghana, in collaboration with the Leadership Empowerment Club (LEC Group), has successfully hosted the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) edition of the 2025 National Youth Empowerment Summit and Awards.
The event took place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the KNUST Faculty of Law auditorium and brought together thought leaders from MTN Ghana, GCB Bank PLC, InvestCorp, and Bel Beverages Company Limited.
Now in its fourth year, the summit continues to serve as a platform to equip young people with practical skills, mentorship, and motivation to thrive in today’s competitive world. This year’s edition emphasized entrepreneurial training and leadership development, aligning with broader efforts to uplift youth across Ghana and Africa.
The initiative is closely aligned with MTN Ghana’s youth-focused mentorship programs, which aim to bridge the digital divide by providing access to technology, career guidance, and entrepreneurial support. These programs help create pathways to success by equipping young people with relevant tools and knowledge.
Summit Highlights
Speakers at the summit shared actionable insights on key topics such as investment, networking, purpose discovery, mentorship, goal setting, and cultivating a mindset of gratitude.
Rosemary Atta Konadu, Head of Retail Shops at MTN Ghana, encouraged attendees to “STRETCH” toward their goals. She emphasized time management, skill execution, resourcefulness, strategic collaboration, and maintaining hope for the future. “Many of our youth are too comfortable in their zones,” she noted. “They want success but aren’t willing to go the extra mile.”
Financial Wisdom
Albert Prempeh Kusi, CEO of LEC Group, underscored the importance of cultivating an investment mindset. He urged young people to save and invest a portion of their income rather than spending it all.
“You can achieve great things by simply setting aside part of your earnings,” he explained. “Too many young people live with the false belief that money will always be available.”
The summit served as a powerful reminder of the value of strategic planning, self-development, and long-term financial thinking in shaping the future of Ghana’s youth.
