Hearts of Oak Appoint Didi Dramani as Head Coach

Former Kotoko title-winning coach returns to the GPL as Hearts seek revival after trophyless season

Accra Hearts of Oak have officially named Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as the club’s new head coach, with the appointment taking immediate effect.

Dramani, a two-time Ghana Premier League champion with Asante Kotoko, has signed a two-year deal with the Phobians. His first assignment will be to prepare the team for the upcoming 2025 President’s Cup clash against his former side, Asante Kotoko, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Prior to this appointment, Dramani served as Head of Football at the Right to Dream Academy. He was also part of Ghana’s technical team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has previously managed the Black Galaxies.

This marks Dramani’s return to the Ghana Premier League for the first time since his departure from Asante Kotoko in 2013, where he secured back-to-back league titles.

Sources close to JoySports reveal that in addition to his coaching duties, Dramani will take charge of Hearts’ transfer operations with immediate effect.

Hearts of Oak are aiming for a revival after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, which saw them finish fourth in the league and exit the MTN FA Cup in the round of 16—ending the season without silverware.
