Asante Kotoko Present FA Cup Trophy to Life Patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Club honors Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after FA Cup triumph and eyes return to continental competition

Asante Kotoko have formally presented their 2024/25 MTN FA Cup trophy to their Life Patron, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in a gesture of gratitude and reverence.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, just days after Kotoko’s 2-1 victory over Golden Kick FC in a thrilling final held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Striker Kwame Opoku was the star of the match, netting a brace — including a crucial late penalty — to secure the win after Golden Kick’s Bless Ege had leveled the score with a superb free-kick.

The Kotoko delegation was led by Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, Board Chairman Kwesi Appiah, and Technical Director Malik Jabir. The group visited the Manhyia Palace to express appreciation to the King for his unwavering support and spiritual guidance throughout the season.

With this victory, Asante Kotoko have earned qualification for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, as they aim to reestablish their presence on the African football stage.
