President John Dramani Mahama has warmly welcomed Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang back to Ghana following her medical leave abroad, expressing heartfelt relief at her safe return.

During an official reception held on Thursday, May 22, Mahama opened up about the difficulties he encountered in her absence, revealing that a recent trip he made to Togo triggered impeachment threats from political adversaries.
“I really missed you, especially because even traveling outside the country became a challenge. They threatened to impeach me just for going to Togo while you were away,” Mahama shared, highlighting the intense political pressure he endured.
Despite the challenges, Mahama conveyed his happiness at her return and reaffirmed his full support, saying, “I’m genuinely the most excited to have you back — you are warmly welcomed.”
