The Odonwodo family is mourning another devastating loss as Ozor Luke Odonwodo, father of the late Nollywood star Junior Pope, has passed away—almost exactly a year after the actor’s untimely death.
Junior Pope, whose real name was Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, tragically lost his life in a boat accident on April 10, 2024, while returning from a movie shoot. Now, his family faces renewed grief with the passing of his father.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer Awele, through an emotional post on Instagram.
She shared a touching video montage showcasing tender moments with her late husband, her father-in-law, and other family members, reflecting the depth of sorrow they continue to endure.
Jennifer revealed that she had visited her father-in-law in Enugu just a month prior, not knowing it would be her final goodbye. In a heartfelt tribute, she described him as a man who “genuinely loved” her, lived a meaningful life, made significant sacrifices for his loved ones, and lived long enough to enjoy the rewards of his efforts.
The Odonwodo family now faces yet another wave of grief as they remember both father and son, gone too soon.
