A 25-year-old man, Emmanuel Agyekum, is receiving treatment at the Abirem Government Hospital after sustaining serious injuries during a family disagreement in Akyem Maamaso, located in the Birim North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a misunderstanding over an unfinished house left behind by Emmanuel’s late father. Emmanuel had taken steps to complete the structure, which is believed to have caused tension among some relatives.
Things took a turn when Emmanuel declined an invitation from his aunt to discuss the property, leading to a verbal exchange. Shortly afterward, two individuals believed to be his cousins allegedly attacked him, leaving him with severe machete wounds, including injuries to his hand.
The suspects are currently being sought by the police as investigations continue.
Speaking to Adom News, Emmanuel’s mother, Selina Amoah, shared her distress over the incident and called on the authorities to ensure justice is served for her son.
