At least seven Palestinians, including three children, were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, as Israel’s ongoing blockade continues to cut off access to vital aid and medical supplies.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, killing five members of the Tlaib family. The victims were reportedly asleep when the attack occurred.
“Three children, their mother, and her husband were sleeping inside a tent when the Israeli occupation aircraft bombed them without warning,” said Omar Abu al-Kass, the children’s maternal grandfather, in comments to AFP.
Elsewhere in Gaza City, a drone strike in the Tuffah neighborhood claimed another life, while Israeli naval forces reportedly opened heavy fire near the shores of Rafah, killing a man identified as Mohammed Saeed al-Bardawil. Two more civilians were injured in an attack on the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone, a designated safe area west of Rafah.
The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that, in the last 24 hours, at least 23 people have been killed and 124 wounded in Israeli assaults across the enclave.
These attacks come amid a severe Israeli blockade that has halted the entry of all goods, including medicine, exacerbating conditions for patients with cancer, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
As the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, international observers and aid organizations are raising urgent concerns over the impact of the siege on Gaza’s 2.2 million residents—many of whom are displaced and reliant on aid for survival.
