SLTF Extends Loans to Over 5,600 More Tertiary Students for 2024/2025 Academic Year

Latest loan disbursement reinforces government's commitment to accessible higher education for all.

The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has approved loans for an additional 5,667 tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year, increasing the total number of beneficiaries to 31,659 across 130 public and private institutions nationwide.

According to SLTF management, the disbursement supports the government’s goal—under the leadership of John Mahama—to expand access to higher education for students from all socio-economic backgrounds.

The SLTF reaffirmed its commitment to timely loan disbursements to ensure students can enroll in their preferred tertiary institutions without financial barriers.

In a Facebook post, SLTF Chief Executive Officer Dr. Saajida Shiraz expressed continued support for the government’s No-Fees-Stress policy, noting its significance in enabling students to complete their education without the pressure of tuition fees.

“As we implement the No-Fees-Stress policy, our focus remains on supporting continuing students financially,” Dr. Shiraz said.

She also highlighted the SLTF’s mission to drive national development by promoting equitable access to quality tertiary education, and urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the initiative to achieve meaningful outcomes.
