Effutu Gets New Court Complex as Afenyo-Markin Champions Accessible Justice

The new court complex aims to ease judicial pressure and enhance access to justice for Effutu residents

Effutu’s Member of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to judicial independence as a cornerstone of Ghana’s democracy.

He made these remarks while officially commissioning a new court complex in the Effutu municipality.

The newly inaugurated facility, which includes both a High Court and a Circuit Court, is part of a broader effort to improve access to justice in response to the area’s growing population.

As Minority Leader and key facilitator of the project, Afenyo-Markin emphasized that the new complex will relieve pressure on the region’s judicial system and bring justice closer to the people of Effutu.

Addressing attendees at the ceremony, he highlighted the broader implications of the development: “This court complex is more than a building—it represents our commitment to rule of law and democratic governance. Without a strong and independent judiciary, our democracy cannot thrive.”

He further stressed that supporting judicial infrastructure is not just a policy stance but a personal conviction, as he continues to advocate for systems that uphold constitutional freedoms and the rule of law.
