Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of Brofoyedru Kyidomhene

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Nana Osei Bonsu, the Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru in the Mampong traditional area.

The sub-chief’s body was discovered near his car in a pool of blood on the Boanim-Morim road on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

Reports indicate that Nana Osei Bonsu was en route to deliver items when he was intercepted by unidentified gunmen. He was reportedly pulled from his vehicle and shot at close range.

While the motive for the killing remains unknown, the deceased’s mobile phone was reportedly destroyed, though no other belongings were taken.

Richard Nketia, the Assemblymember for the Dompem Electoral Area, confirmed the incident and urged increased police patrols in the Boanim-Morim area.

The body of Nana Osei Bonsu has been taken to the Mampong Government Hospital for an autopsy.
