Kenya Goalkeeper Patrick Matasi Under Match-Fixing Investigation
Match Manipulation Allegations Prompt FKF Probe into Patrick Matasi

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has launched an investigation into allegations of match manipulation involving national team goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.
Matasi, 37, who plays for Kenyan Premier League club Kakamega Homeboyz and has over 30 international caps, is the subject of the probe following an undated online video that appears to show him agreeing to influence a league match outcome. The BBC has not independently verified the video.
Kakamega Homeboyz owner Cleophas Shimanyula stated he spoke with Matasi, who expressed shock at the video and denied any involvement in match-fixing.
The FKF has affirmed its “zero-tolerance policy on match manipulation” and will collaborate with FIFA, the Confederation of African Football, and other relevant authorities during the investigation.
The federation assured a fair and transparent process, respecting the rights of the player and his club, with appropriate action to follow the findings.
BBC Sport Africa has reached out to Matasi for comment.
