My vision is to provide free transport for students in hard-to-reach Ccommunity – Kumawu mp

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has revealed plans to procure tricycles (pragyia) to transport students in rural communities within the constituency to and from school daily.

According to him, this initiative will help reduce absenteeism among students and encourage parents to enroll their children in school at an early age.

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim made this announcement during the 2025 Kumawu MP Teachers’ Awards Ceremony, held in Kumawu under the theme: “Motivating the Teacher; The Tool for Educational Transformation.”

At the event, the Overall Best Teacher was awarded a refrigerator, while a teacher serving in one of the hard-to-reach communities received a motorbike in recognition of their dedication.

The MP further assured that he would take steps to fix bad roads leading to rural communities in the constituency to ease movement for residents.

The Overall Best Teacher, Paulina Afia Ago, appealed to authorities to post more teachers to the district to address the shortage of educators.
