The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that it is actively prosecuting several corruption-related cases as the new legal year officially begins. The anti-graft agency stated that more prosecutions are expected to be filed before the end of 2025.
With courts reopening after their annual break, the OSP confirmed that it is currently managing multiple high-profile cases on behalf of the public. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the office hinted that “more cases will be filed in the last quarter of the year.”
The OSP’s statement also pointed to “steady progress” in its mandate, revealing that seven individuals have already been convicted earlier this year through plea bargains.
The ongoing cases in court reportedly target individuals and entities implicated in acts of financial misconduct across both public and private institutions, signaling the OSP’s commitment to ramping up its anti-corruption efforts.
