Let the Cedi Flourish Under Your Leadership — Duncan-Williams Urges Mahama

Archbishop Duncan-Williams calls on President Mahama to drive economic revival

At the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held on Tuesday, July 1, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, issued a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to use his renewed mandate to transform Ghana’s economy and foster national unity.

Speaking at the State House in Accra, the respected clergyman challenged the president to deliver impactful leadership within his current term.

“Mr. President, within three years, make a difference. Change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership. Let things get better and better under your leadership like never before,” he declared, drawing loud applause from attendees.

Call for a National Vision

Archbishop Duncan-Williams emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive national development agenda, modeled after long-term strategies seen in countries such as China, India, and Dubai. These nations, he noted, operate with 100-year visions that transcend political transitions and prioritize national progress.

“Under President Mahama’s leadership, Ghana must develop a unified agenda that all political actors and institutions can align with,” he said.

Faith, Unity, and Patriotism

In addition to economic transformation, the Archbishop called for a revival of patriotic and spiritual values, urging Ghanaians to renew their commitment to God and country.

“We need a deep love for God and for Ghana,” he said, cautioning against political divisiveness that hinders collective progress.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving brought together political leaders, religious figures, and civil society organizations under a theme of hope, unity, and national renewal. The event served as a platform for reflection, intercession, and a shared vision for a stronger, more united Ghana.
