The UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) warns that preventable diseases are surging in Gaza due to severe shortages of clean water, fuel, and medical supplies caused by Israel’s blockade.
Over the past two weeks, more than 19,000 cases of acute diarrhoea and hundreds of jaundice and bloody diarrhoea cases have been reported.
The fuel blockade has shut down desalination plants, worsening water access.
Hospitals are struggling, and doctors say a lack of formula milk is endangering newborns. Israeli strikes continue, with at least 71 Palestinians reported killed on Thursday alone.
The UN and rights groups have called the situation in Gaza a humanitarian catastrophe.
