Francis Adomako, the Ashanti Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Sunday marked Father’s Day by donating food items and an undisclosed sum of money to thirty (30) elderly fathers in the Adansi enclave of the Ashanti Region.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the Adansi Asokwa, New Edubiase, and Akrofuom constituencies, with selections made by their respective constituency executives.
Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony, Mr. Adomako expressed appreciation to the fathers for their contributions to raising responsible citizens within the region.
“Today being Father’s Day, we, together with the constituency executives, decided to put smiles on the faces of 30 deserving fathers. Just as we celebrate mothers, it is only right to show the same love to our fathers,” he stated.
Call to Action
Mr. Adomako encouraged the constituency executives to take advantage of their time in opposition to engage more actively with both party members and non-affiliated individuals in their communities.
He emphasized the importance of continued commitment to party organization and reforms, particularly as the NPP aims to rebuild its support base ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“Former President Kufuor once said it is difficult to remain relevant as a political party when out of power. But I urge you not to give up. Stay focused, work hard, and make the party attractive again. That’s how we win back power,” he charged.
Grateful Beneficiaries
Among the recipients was 56-year-old Opanin Kusi Amaning, who praised the NPP regional organiser for the thoughtful gesture.
“It is rare for us fathers to be remembered on days like this. To receive rice, mackerel, oil, and even money is deeply appreciated,” he said with a smile.
Another beneficiary, Wofa Yaw Boateng from New Edubiase, echoed similar sentiments.
“It’s uncommon for anyone to extend such kindness to fathers on this special day. Mr. Adomako’s generosity is truly commendable,” he added.
The event was marked by gratitude and warm smiles as the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Organiser brought recognition and relief to elderly fathers who are often overlooked on Father’s Day.
