The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued a new weather warning about thunderstorms and rainfall sweeping across multiple regions in Ghana, as a rainstorm system moves in from southern Togo.
In its 24-hour forecast released Tuesday morning, the agency confirmed that the storm is already bringing thunderstorms and rain of varying intensity over the transition zone and parts of northern Ghana.
This weather pattern is expected to cause cloudy skies and trigger additional thunderstorms and rain across the southern half of the country from morning through late afternoon.
While some areas may see occasional sunshine, most regions—especially the coastal, middle, and northern belts—should prepare for thunderstorms or showers beginning late afternoon and continuing into the evening.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency also highlighted rough sea conditions and urged coastal communities and maritime operators to remain cautious.
Residents are advised to stay vigilant as the weather situation may change throughout the day.
