President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that the Attorney-General is actively preparing 33 corruption-related cases against individuals who held government positions under the previous administration.
These cases were uncovered by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Team, an anti-corruption task force Mahama formed following his return to power in the 2024 elections.
The ORAL Team was mandated to investigate suspected corruption and misappropriation of state resources during the former regime and refer findings to relevant authorities for action.
Chaired by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the five-member team includes prominent figures known for their strong anti-corruption credentials: former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Police Commissioner Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, legal advocate Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
After concluding its investigations, the ORAL Team submitted its final report to the Office of the Attorney-General, prompting the formation of specialized investigative units to pursue each case.
Speaking at a meeting with the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption on June 3, 2025, at Jubilee House, President Mahama stated that legal proceedings are imminent.
“The ORAL Committee identified 33 cases and handed them to the Attorney-General. Dedicated teams are investigating each one. In several instances, we’ve found significant evidence, including the acquisition of assets through illicit means. Some prosecutions have already begun, while others are on the verge of being launched,” he said.
