MTN Ghana is set to expand internet access across the country with its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services, targeting households in key communities. The initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to support Ghana’s digital transformation and address the increasing demand for reliable internet at home.
Speaking at a media and stakeholder forum in Tamale, MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett explained that the FTTH rollout is tailored to meet the diverse internet needs of Ghanaian households.
“Our FTTH services deliver high-speed internet, stable connections, low latency, and flexible packages suited to various budgets and usage levels,” he said.
Mr. Blewett added that the project aligns with MTN’s long-term digital strategy, which focuses on bridging the digital divide and enhancing digital inclusion for individuals, businesses, and communities across Ghana.
To support this expansion, MTN is prioritizing infrastructure upgrades and capital investments. In 2025, the company plans to relocate about 130 kilometers of fiber optic lines to improve network resilience and increase capacity.
The upgrades are expected to support future digital services and applications, helping to fuel innovation and economic development.
During his visit to the Northern Region, Mr. Blewett also met with key stakeholders including the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, and media representatives from the Upper East, North East, Savannah, and Northern regions. He also engaged with staff, visited the Tamale market, and interacted with MTN’s trade partners.
MTN’s annual regional visits aim to foster stronger stakeholder relationships, gather feedback, and share updates on ongoing service improvements and innovations.
