President John Dramani Mahama has commended Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama for their effective partnership in revitalizing Ghana’s economy.
Speaking at a durbar of chiefs and residents at Wa Jubilee Park during his thank-you tour of the Upper West Region on Thursday, May 15, Mahama attributed the recent economic stabilization to the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.
He noted that this teamwork has played a crucial role in the country’s gradual economic recovery.
“I want to acknowledge the impressive coordination between the Finance Ministry and the Bank of Ghana, which is driving the positive changes we’re beginning to see,” Mahama remarked.
Expressing optimism about the months ahead, the President hinted at even better economic news in the near future, saying, “By the time the Finance Minister presents the mid-year budget review in August, I believe we’ll have more progress to share.”
His comments follow encouraging economic signs, including the strengthening of the Ghanaian cedi, sparking renewed hope among policymakers and the public.
