The community of Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality is reeling after a tragic and disturbing incident involving the suspected ritual killing of a five-year-old girl on the evening of Monday, May 12, 2025.
According to initial reports, the young girl disappeared shortly after her mother left her and a younger sibling sleeping at home. Upon her return, the mother realized the child was missing, prompting a frantic neighborhood search.
That search ended in horror when the girl’s blood-stained clothes were discovered on the premises of Ahiable Yao David, a local fan milk seller and church choir member.
Police were called to the scene and a subsequent search of the suspect’s room led to the discovery of a buried pot containing human remains, believed to be those of the missing child.
David is currently on the run, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend him. The brutal nature of the incident has plunged the town into mourning, with residents demanding swift justice.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
