Just $800 – Nana Agradaa Backs Sammy Gyamfi Over Viral Cash Video

The evangelist downplays backlash after receiving $800 from Ghana Gold Board CEO, calling it a simple act of kindness

Evangelist and former fetish priestess, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah—widely known as Nana Agradaa—has jumped to the defense of Ghana Gold Board CEO Sammy Gyamfi amid public criticism stemming from a viral video in which he is seen giving her money.

The footage, which shows Gyamfi handing over a bundle of U.S. dollars to Agradaa, quickly sparked controversy, particularly within circles of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Critics, including former Kumbungu MP Ras Mubarak, argued the gesture sends the wrong message, especially at a time when confidence in the Ghanaian cedi is fragile.

Speaking during a recent church service, Agradaa revealed that the amount in question was only $800. She dismissed the backlash as overblown and urged NDC supporters to see the act as a sign of generosity rather than scandal.

“$800 is nothing to get worked up about,” she said. “If you’re with the NDC, don’t let this trouble you. The Bible teaches us to embrace blessings from others. If you condemn someone for giving, yet you yourself accept gifts from public officials, you’re only cursing yourself.”

Agradaa emphasized that the money was a simple act of kindness and encouraged others to follow suit instead of criticizing such gestures.

In response to the uproar, Gyamfi publicly apologized on social media, stating that his intentions were purely compassionate.

“This was a kind act extended to a fellow human being. I have made it a lifelong habit to support those in need. To all comrades hurt by this, I offer my sincere apologies,” he wrote.

However, the issue has attracted attention at the highest levels of government. Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reportedly summoned Gyamfi to the Jubilee House for a meeting to clarify the circumstances—highlighting ongoing concerns about ethical standards in public office.
