Mahama Announces Independent Audit of National Cathedral Project, Report Expected This Month

Mahama Reinforces Anti-Corruption Drive with National Cathedral Audit and Ongoing Investigations

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fighting corruption, announcing that a comprehensive audit of the National Cathedral project, launched under the previous Akufo-Addo government, will be released soon.

In a national address on Wednesday, May 7, marking his first 120 days in office, Mahama revealed that the global audit firm Deloitte has been assigned to examine the controversial project.

He emphasized, “The battle against corruption continues without pause. Deloitte and Touche are conducting an independent audit of the National Cathedral project, and I expect their report by the end of this month.”

Mahama also shared that investigations are underway regarding other key government projects, including the 13th African Games, with several officials already being questioned.

These actions reflect Mahama’s broader commitment to accountability and transparency, promises he made during his campaign and reaffirmed early in his presidency.
