In a heartwarming gesture, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, the CEO of Class Media Group, gifted a car to Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare on Wednesday morning at the club’s commercial center.
This generous act follows the viral video in March showing Asare in the front seat of a commercial vehicle, which stirred criticism online after he made his Black Stars debut.
Benjamin Asare expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank all the supporters of Hearts of Oak and everyone. It is incredible for a lovely gesture to be extended to someone like me. I also thank the whole nation, the president, my coach Ouattara, and everyone who has helped me. God willing, we will make it to the World Cup.”
Asare, who has been in outstanding form this season with 15 clean sheets in 24 matches, continues to impress. His coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, encouraged him to make the most of the car, emphasizing that it was his exceptional performances on the pitch that earned him this gift. “I’ll tell Asare to utilise the car well and to remember it was his abilities that brought him this prize,” Ouattara said.
Despite Hearts of Oak trailing league leaders GoldStars by 10 points with just four games remaining, the team remains hopeful and motivated as they close out the season.
