Renowned gospel artist and preacher Sonnie Badu has sounded the alarm over the rising influence of artificial intelligence (AI), warning that if left unchecked, it could infiltrate and even dominate religious spaces, potentially challenging the authority of God Himself.
In a heartfelt message shared via social media on May 7, 2025, Prophet Badu emphasized the urgent need for a balanced approach between embracing technological advancement and maintaining spiritual integrity. He expressed deep concern that AI’s rapid evolution could lead people to question the necessity of God.
“Artificial Intelligence will contend with God,” Badu stated. “Very soon, they’ll start saying we no longer need Him.”
He called on the faithful—whom he referred to as “the sons of God”—to rise spiritually and take proactive steps to guard religious institutions against AI’s potential encroachment.
“If we don’t take a stand now, even our sacred church temples could be overtaken by AI,” he cautioned.
