Suhuyini: Mahama Committed to Purposeful, Respectable Leadership

As Mahama prepares to update Ghanaians on his 120-day plan, Suhuyini says the president is focused on purposeful governance and national unity

Hamza Suhuyini, a prominent voice within the NDC communications team, has asserted that President John Dramani Mahama is firmly committed to establishing a legacy grounded in purpose, accountability, and national respect—even from across the political aisle.

Speaking in anticipation of Mahama’s national address on Wednesday, May 7, Suhuyini highlighted the president’s dedication to transparency and meaningful governance under the recently introduced 120-day social contract. He took the opportunity to criticize the opposition NPP, labeling the party as ineffective and disorganized both in and out of power.

“They’re historically incompetent—even in opposition. Just look at the recent confusion in their internal operations,” Suhuyini remarked, adding that such dysfunction reflects the kind of poor governance they offered while in office.

Suhuyini praised Mahama’s leadership, describing him as a level-headed, principled leader who commands admiration across party lines. “Even senior NPP figures acknowledge his intellect, calm demeanor, and reliability,” he noted.

While recognizing that Ghana’s complex challenges can’t all be solved in just 120 days, Suhuyini emphasized that Mahama’s leadership is focused on measurable progress and real impact. “He’s not making empty promises. He’s working diligently to meet the hopes and needs of the Ghanaian people,” he stressed.

Citing recent policy changes, including the scrapping of the E-Levy, Betting Tax, and Emissions Levy, Suhuyini pointed to Mahama’s broader strategy aimed at reducing financial strain on citizens and promoting a more compassionate form of governance.
