Interior Ministry Declares May 1 as Public Holiday for Workers’ Day
Ghanaians to observe statutory holiday in recognition of labour contributions

The Ministry for the Interior has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a statutory public holiday in observance of May Day, also known as Workers’ Day.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak on Friday, April 25.
he public is encouraged to observe the holiday nationwide in accordance with Ghana’s official holiday regulations.
Celebrated internationally, May Day honours the dedication, achievements, and essential role of workers across all sectors of the economy.
