‘I Was Ready for a Hearing, But No Committee Showed Up’ – Adwoa Safo Expresses Disappointment”
Safo questions the party’s handling of disciplinary proceedings and transparency

Sarah Adwoa Safo, former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has raised concerns about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) handling of the disciplinary proceedings against her. Safo expressed frustration after arriving at the NPP headquarters to respond to misconduct allegations, only to be told by a party officer that the meeting had been canceled.
She questioned why she was not personally notified of the cancellation, emphasizing the lack of communication regarding the change of plans. “If there was a change of plan, why wasn’t I informed directly?” she asked. “I came prepared for a hearing, only to find out there was no committee sitting.”
Safo expressed disappointment, stating, “As a party, we need to take these matters more seriously. When a person is summoned to a disciplinary committee, it’s presumed they’ve done something wrong, and they’re supposed to be disciplined. Why ridicule me publicly and then cancel the meeting without notice?”
However, NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed denied the claim, stating that Safo had been notified through her legal representatives.
