70th Anniversary Boost: KATH Sees Steady Rise in Patient Satisfaction Through Strategic Investments

Seven Decades of Impact: KATH's Investments Lead to Higher Patient Approval

Marking its 70th year, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is celebrating a consistent upward trend in patient satisfaction, a success attributed to the effective use of its own funds to enhance medical resources and patient experience.

Hospital management highlights that Internally-Generated Funds (IGF) have been instrumental in procuring essential medical equipment across various departments.

These include critical additions like ventilators for surgery, specialized equipment for urology and ENT, advanced systems for dialysis and eye care, and vital machines for the Mother and Baby Unit.

These investments, according to the hospital, have directly translated into improved healthcare delivery and higher service standards at the major referral center. This positive impact is reflected in the increasing patient satisfaction rates: 80.7% in 2022, 85.2% in 2023, and 85.5% in 2024.

At KATH’s 2024 End-of-Year Performance Review Conference, Chief Executive Officer Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah reiterated the hospital’s long-term vision to be a leading African institution for specialized medical services, training, and research.

He emphasized a commitment to patient-focused, technologically advanced, and collaborative approaches to maintain and further improve the quality of care provided over the past seven decades. Professor Addai-Mensah also acknowledged the significant contributions of past leadership and partners in achieving these advancements.
